Bikes, Bands and Shows – The 2008 Carlisle Bike Fest Rides to the Carlisle Fairgrounds
Tuesday, July 08, 2008
CARLISLE, PA – The 2008 Carlisle Bike Fest is the best ticket on the East Coast for fans of everything on two wheels. Stunt shows, bands, vendors, food and drinks and special guests will be packed into one weekend at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle Pennsylvania on July 25-27. Bikers from all over the East Coast will leave their trailers at home and enjoy the scenic rides throughout Central PA, on their way to the show. The Carlisle Bike Fest is nicknamed “The Show” because everything that you would find at the largest events in the country and more will be offered at The 2008 Carlisle Bike Show.
The 2008 Carlisle Bike Show will see new features that are sure to add to the already electric atmosphere. Two motorcycles from two different classes will be included in the 2008 Carlisle Bike Fest Give Away on two days Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Cumberland Cycle Center of Carlisle and Koup’s Cycle Shop of Harrisburg will present a lucky winner with a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. On Sunday, Carlisle Events will celebrate the 105th anniversary of Harley Davidson Motorcycles by presenting a new 105th anniversary Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide to a second lucky attendee. Another addition to the Carlisle Bike Fest this year is regional and local recording artists that will be performing all weekend long. The line-up includes Mitch Hood, Ledbetter Heights and The Underwater. Make sure to get to the show early because the grandstands will fill up fast with attendees eager to check out the bands, the StarBoyz Stunt Shows, the Freestyle Motocross Stunt Shows, The Wall of Death, Trial Riders obstacles climbs and the famous P & M 2 Powertrain and Koup’s Cycle Shop Burnout Contest.
The Carlisle Bike Fest has something for everyone. To add to that tradition, the Carlisle Fighter Fest and Carlisle Rat Rod Revivals have been added as rookies to the schedule as a new aspect to an already diverse show. The Carlisle Fighter Fest sponsored by Karns Performance is sure to bring out the best in chopped European sport bikes including Buells, Ducati Monsters and other Naked Sport bikes. The first ever Carlisle Rat Rod Revival will take place on Sunday and is for fans who believe form follows function. Rat rods are cars and motorcycles that follow the form, style and tradition of hot rods. Rat rod cars and bikes are very simple, not so pretty to look at but they are loud and full of horsepower!
A number of featured builders are also on the ticket that will show their custom builds and offer insight to custom motorcycle building for sport bikes, v-twins and more. Metric Revolution builders Steve Kehler, Sam Nehme and Brad Ruel will all be on hand. Bryan Fuller, from TV’s Two Guys Garage as well as Biker Buildoff will also be showcasing his bikes and meeting with fans and amateur builders throughout the weekend. The Garage Girls, Sara Liberte and Jody Perewitz will host seminars and will be featured on Carlisle’s builder roundtable to present the ladies perspective on custom motorcycle building.
The 2008 Carlisle Bike Fest is perfect for veteran riders, weekend bikers and even the curious onlooker who likes excitement, music and a show. Mark your calendar for July 25, 26 and 27, for the 2008 Carlisle Bike Fest.
